Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, has become increasingly popular in the last few years. The non-intoxicating hemp plant extract is even being added to foods to help with a variety of health and wellness concerns, like pain and anxiety. Now, there’s a new CBD-infused food on the market — honey.
Bee Delightful, based in Austin, Texas, has created CBD-infused honey that you can use just as you would other honey products, but which contains the added benefits of CBD. It’s made by blending wildflower honey with honey from bees rescued by Bee Delightful, and then infusing it with a carefully extracted, naturally occurring CBD.
Called Canna Bees Rescue Blend, the only ingredients are raw honey and CBD. There are between 14mg and 28 mg CBD per 1 teaspoon, depending on the size of the jar you order. A 250-mg jar costs $39, while a 500-mg jar is $59. You can find it at a variety of stores around the country, or on Bee Delightful’s website.
Made in the United States, the honey has no more than 0.3% THC, so you will not experience a “high” like you would with marijuana. Even so, the honey is not for use or sale to anyone under the age of 18 and should not be used if you are pregnant or nursing. If you have any serious medical conditions or use prescription medications, you should also consult a physician before purchasing.
While the CBD oil may help you, your purchase will help Texas bees. Bee Delightful helps support local extractors and donates money to make the bee removal/rescue process free for people in their communities.
Their team works to safely relocate bee colonies to chemical-free properties with room for foraging and pollinating. The more jars of Canna Bees they sell, the more colonies they’re able to rescue. Their goal is to rescue one million bees in their first year alone.
Looking for more CBD-infused products? You can find everything from CBD-infused sparkling water to cocktails. Even the original creator of Jelly Belly is making CBD-infused jelly beans.
The jelly beans come in 38 different flavors like mango, pina colada and strawberry cheesecake. Each jelly bean contains a 10-milliliter dose of CBD.
Have you added any CBD-infused foods to your kitchen? Will you be adding honey to the list?
