Freeze warning issued for Tucson, surrounding areas Tuesday

TUCSON, Ariz. - On Monday, the National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for Tucson and other Southern Arizona areas for Tuesday.

According to the service, the warning will go into effect at 1 a.m. Tuesday and last until 9 a.m.

Sub-freezing temperatures between 30 and 32 degrees are possible. Drainage areas and washes could dip into the upper 20s.

The warning is in effect for Tucson, the Tohono O'odham Nation and southern Pinal County.

NWS recommends wrapping pipes or allowing faucets to drip slowly, as well as covering plants.
