UPDATE 3:56 p.m.
According to a news release from Tucson Police Department, the victim, identified as 59-year-old Daniel Joseph Vigil, attempted to cross Kolb Road about 280 feet north of Valencia Road, at just before 5 a.m.
As he was crossing, he was struck first by a 2016 Hyundai Tucson and then a 2020 Toyota Camry, the news release said. Both vehicles were driving southbound in the right turn lane of South Kolb.
Vigil was not in a marked or unmarked crosswalk, the news release said. Tucson Police determined neither driver was impaired at the time. Whether or not Vigil was struck will be determined through medical records, the news release said.
UPDATE 7:30 a.m.
Tucson Police says a man died after being hit by a car at Kolb and Valencia. The car stayed at the scene. TPD says the road will remain closed during the investigation.

The southbound lanes of Kolb Road from Irvington to Valencia are closed because of a crash at Kolb and Valencia, according to TransView.
Tucson Police have not provided any more information about the crash or when the lanes will reopen.
