How to reverse your child's COVID-19 academic slide

From midsummer through the first quarter of the new school year, the Varsity Tutors Learning Lab has been diagnosing "next grade readiness" in Math, Science, and English Language Arts skills for tens of thousands of students beginning a new grade. From this data, the company has been able to identify the beginnings of a COVID-induced academic slide, seeing bigger gaps in foundational skills.

Varsity Tutors hasn't just collected this important COVID Slide data, however. It has built a series of mini-courses on the skills most likely to hold students back from mastery of this year's material. The "Most Misunderstood" series offers quick, engaging classes for all grades 1-8 to specifically review and reteach the skills that have been diagnosed as critical to success, but proving a challenge for students entering their new grade.
