TUCSON, Arizona — UArizona's request for its Notice of Allegations Infractions Case to be heard by the Independent Accountability Resolution Process has been granted, according to the NCAA.

In October, the UArizona received its Notice of Allegations from the NCAA. While the school would not reveal what was in it, it was reported that there are five Level One Allegations, which are the most severe.

This follows an NCAA Investigation that followed the federal bribery plea from former assistant coach Book Richardson, who spent time in prison earlier this year. Richardson was involved in a recruiting scandal involving payments.

Another former assistant coach, Mark Phelps, was placed on leave by UArizona after he reportedly tampered with a recruit's transcript and paid for a plane ticket for a student-athlete.

Punishments could involve a postseason ban, a lack of scholarships, or a suspension of head coach Sean Miller.

The case is expected to be wrapped sometime around next spring.
