TUCSON, Ariz. — The University of Arizona's scheduled basketball game against the University of Texas at El Paso has been canceled because of a COVID case within the UTEP program.
UArizona athletics said the team is looking for a game to replace their game with UTEP.
The basketball program calls the cancellation disappointing, but said the health and safety of everyone involved is its top priority.
The game that was supposed to be the Wildcat's season opener against Northern Arizona University was also canceled because of COVID-19.
UArizona won their game Friday against Grambling State 74 - 55.
