TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson's first professional football team unveiled its uniforms Wednesday at the Tucson Convention Center.

The Sugar Skulls plan to mix and match the black, yellow and white variations of the uniform.

Owner Kevin Guy admitted there is a Pittsburgh Steelers influence in the black and yellow uniforms. Minority Owner Ali Farhang grew up a Steelers fan, and Guy's high school colors were black and yellow.

"Those are the colors that we were looking for," said Guy. "We're really excited about em. We like that we'll be able to mix-match them all and be able to mix in the pants with the shirts."

The players also love the unique uniforms.

"These jerseys, I mean, they're amazing," said Sugar Skulls Quarterback Matt Behrendt. "They just stick out, so it's awesome. I've never had more than one helmet or jersey in my life. So it's exciting"

The Sugar Skulls kick off their first season Sunday at San Diego. The home opener is March 10 at Tucson Arena against the Bismark Bucks.
