Tucson Sugar Skulls set open tryout

Posted at 6:07 PM, Oct 11, 2018

The Tucson Sugar Skulls announced they will conduct an open tryout next month.

The tryout allows prospective players with an opportunity to take the next step in their professional football careers. Many players from the Indoor Football League have been able to further their careers in the National Football League and the Canadian Football League.

The tryout will be on Nov. 10 at the Kino Sports Complex, 2500 East Ajo Way.

Registration is from 8 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. The tryout will be at the North Grandstand Field and will begin immediately after registration.

All players intending to try out must register to take part. There is a fee to participate, $80. Cash and money orders will be the only forms of payments accepted. No debit cards, credit cards or personal checks will be accepted.

Participants must provide their own gear - cleats, shorts and accessories. The tryout is non-contact, so pads and helmets are not needed. No locker room facilities will be available, so participants must be prepared upon their arrival.

The coaching staff, including Sugar Skulls Head Coach Marcus Coleman, will evaluate participants in the 40-yard dash, short shuttles and position drills.

If participants wish to send links to film and resumes, send them to scouting@tucsonsugarskulls.com.

The Tucson Sugar Skulls will begin its inaugural season in March with home games at the Tucson Arena.
