TUCSON, Ariz. — The Pac-12 decided to suspend its 2020 football season Tuesday. The report was made by multiple media outlets, including CBS Sports.

The Pac-12 planned to announce the news at a 1:30 press conference Tuesday. The conference could play the schedule in the spring.

In addition to football, the Pac-12 also suspended all other sports through the end of the calendar year. That means the earliest basketball season could start would be January.

In a move that followed the lead of the Big 10, the conference decided not to play games in fall 2020, keeping open the possibility that it could play the season in the spring.

Leaders from all 12 members of the Pac-12 announced the decision following a meeting.

Last month, the Pac-12 did away with non-conference games, announcing a 10-game schedule for each team. Those games will no longer take place.
