FC Tucson Youth Soccer Club is newly created following the merger of the Tucson Soccer Academy and Tanque Verde Soccer Club.
The pooling of resources is expected to make the game more affordable for young soccer players in Tucson. It also forms a connection with professional soccer in Tucson. FC Tucson, now owned by Phoenix Rising FC, is expected to move up to Division 3 PDL in 2019.
"This is a monumental game-changer for kids in Southern Arizona," says FC Tucson Youth Soccer President Ted Schmidt. "This marriage of leadership, coaching, and resources will allow for superior recreational, developmental and competitive programs at lower costs as well as a more robust soccer scholarship program."
