Arizona Women's Basketball ranked 7th to begin the season

TUCSON, Arizona — Arizona Women's Basketball is ranked 7th in the preseason A.P. Top 25 poll, the highest ever ranking for the Wildcats to begin the season.

The Wildcats are coming off a 24-7 season and Adia Barnes' teams returns senior Aari McDonald, who led the the Pac-12 in scoring and steals the past two seasons.

All-Pac-12 selections Sam Thomas and Cate Reese return, and they are joined by 2020 ACC Sixth Player of the Year Trinity Baptiste, and highly touted prospect Lauren Ware.

The Wildcats finished last season ranked 12th, and haven't been in the top ten since 1998.
