It's been a rough season for Arizona Football coach Rich Rodriguez. But, it's been a great season for his son,
Rhett Rodriguez, who has quarterbacked Catalina Foothills High School in the state championship game.
During Monday's weekly news conference leading up to the Territorial Cup Game, Rodriguez was asked about his son, who accounted for seven touchdowns in last week's state semifinal win over Higley.
"I'm just so proud," said Rodriguez, while holding back tears. "He's having a terrific playoff run. He's accounted for so many touchdowns. I'm just proud of who he is. Same with my daughter. Raquel is captain of the cheerleading team and doing great in school."
Raquel is a junior at the University of Arizona. Rhett will be a freshman next season for the Wildcat football team.
This year's Wildcat team is 2-9 with eight straight losses. Arizona State has lost five in a row. The Territorial Cup game is Friday night at Arizona Stadium.
