TUCSON, Ariz. — Sahuarita's government will be back open for businesses next week.
The town of Sahuarita plans to resume services and reopen buildings May 8.
Mayor Tom Murphy says that he thinks it's not sustainable to continue the stay-at-home order until a vaccine is developed.
"To have the ability to operate whether it's 12 moths 18 or 3 years to get a vaccine, we have to get back to normalcy in my opinion and government, and I spent 21 years in the air force and I consider ourselves public servants and if the business community is going to be on an opening path I think we need to be there and available to help support that effort," Mayor Tom Murphy said.
Town employees will be required to observe social distancing guidelines, and those who are in contact with a public will be required to wear masks.
"We do this cautiously and responsibly with the utmost concern for public health, and for the health of our local businesses, residents and employees,” Mayor Tom Murphy said in a statement. “We’re eager to get back to full-capacity service to our residents.”
