After a month-long investigation, Zachary Kealoha, a 26-year-old accused of child molestation and rape, is behind bars.

According to authorities, Kealoha had a warrant out for his arrest based on five counts of sexual assault and also an incident of sexual misconduct of a minor who was at least 15 years old. These incidents were said to have happened about five years ago, when the victim was between ages 7 and 11.

“No child should ever be subjected to sexual abuse, especially by a trusted individual,” said District of Arizona U.S. Marshal David Gonzales. “The U.S. Marshals Service is dedicated to pursuing these types of predators. Our partnership with the Tucson Police Department and other law enforcement agencies assures that child predators like Zachary Kealoha will be brought to justice and face the repercussions of their heinous actions.”

On Thursday, Kealoha was seen outside a home in Corona de Tucson, prompting U.S. Marshals Service WANTED Violent Offenders Task Force to take him into custody.

Kealoha was booked into Pima County Jail where he now faces child molestation charges.
