PHOENIX - A man has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault after he and a friend tied up his wife and assaulted her.
Kevin Fletcher, 26, has been taken into police custody after his wife reported to police that she had been assaulted by him and his friend, 26-year-old, Jonya Shelton.
The victim said she had arrived home around 3:45 p.m. on Friday, January 3, where an argument ensued about her possibly cheating on her husband. Fletcher then used a knife to threaten his wife, and he and Shelton tied her up with a vacuum cord.
According to the victim, Fletcher held the knife to her throat and then told her, "Don't lie to me or I'll kill you."
The man then untied his wife, pulled out his gun and took her to the back room in the home where he slapped her multiple times and then began choking her once she had fallen to the floor.
Fletcher's wife was eventually able to convince him to take her to work where she then called police.
The man's friend, Jonya Shelton has also been arrested and is being charged with aggravated kidnapping.
