TUCSON, Ariz. -- Located inside the historic Hotel Congress, Cup Cafe is opening up today for dine-in services.
But dine-in services will be held outside on the plaza.
Cup Cafe told KGUN9 that the stay-at-home order brought many challenges; the biggest being a significant amount of staff was laid off. Between Cup Cafe and the other restaurants in Hotel Congress about 185 employees were impacted.
Most have returned though.
Another major challenge: finances. But with the help of the a paycheck protection program loan and a grant from Rio Nuevo, Cup Cafe and Hotel Congress are now well positioned.
Because dining is outside, dine-in services are working around the heat with new hours from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m and then again from 5 p.m. until 10.
