TUCSON, Ariz. — Once known as the crown jewel of downtown Tucson, the Fox Theatre has now been closed for more than two months.

The theatre was forced to close its doors in march because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The executive director of fox theater says they're working through challenges like how to social distance, and finding alternative entertainment.

Executive Director Bonnie Schock said, "Our seating capacity is drastically limited and will cut down to around between 200 and 225 seats, and so that changes the scenario for us - it changes the economics."

The theatre is using their Fox Forward campaign to help the venue get back on its feet.

A date for the reopening of the theatre has not yet been set.
