Street car route changes and road closure for 4th Ave Street Fair

Posted
Winter time in Tucson means the annual fourth avenue street fair is back in town. This year's street fair kicks off Friday. More than 300,000 people are expected to attend.

Of course, to make room for all the activities, Sun Link and Sun Tran will be modifying their routes and there will be temporary road closures.

Beginning at noon Thursday until approximately midnight on Sunday, Fourth Avenue will be closed from University Boulevard south to Eighth Street.

The Sun Tran street car will be making only limited stops. It will operate from both east and west ends of the fair. On the Eastern side from Helen Street to University Boulevard and Third Avenue. On the Western end from Avenida del Convento through downtown to Fourth Avenue and Eighth Street.

Sun tran buses will help transport passengers to and from those stops.

The  fair runs Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. It includes more than 400 arts and crafts booths, food and drink vendors, street musicians and tons of other family fun activities.
