The eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 in Goodyear are closed after a deadly head-on crash early Friday morning, KGUN9 sister station KNXV reports.

A wrong-way driver reportedly hit a Greyhound bus head-on on I-10 near Sarival Avenue.

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. and resulted in a 2-alarm response from fire and medical crews.

The driver of the vehicle, a young woman from Glendale, died.

A Greyhound representative says 35 passengers were on the bus coming from San Bernardino to Phoenix. More than a dozen of those passengers were taken to the hospital. The uninjured passengers were taken away on another bus that was sent to the scene.

DPS says eastbound lanes are closed at Loop 303 and traffic is being rerouted onto northbound Loop 303. Check current traffic conditions here.
