PHOENIX (AP) - Former major league pitcher Curt Schilling says he might challenge Democratic U.S. Rep. Tom O'Halleran if he runs in Arizona.

The Arizona Republic reported Wednesday that Schilling announced last week that he's thinking about running for Congress and has reached out to the Arizona Republican Party.

The 52-year-old former pitcher said in a Facebook video that he's interested in O'Halleran's district, but he's still planning out what he wants to do.

O'Halleran says Schilling has name recognition, but he's not too concerned about a possible faceoff for the mostly rural district in eastern Arizona.

Schilling helped the Arizona Diamondbacks to the team's only World Series championship in 2001. He won another World Series with the Boston Red Sox in 2004.
