TUCSON, Ariz. — Democrat Chris Nanos has won the primary to face incumbent Republican Mark Napier for Pima County Sheriff this fall.
It's a rematch of the 2016 election, when then-incumbent Sheriff Nanos lost to Napier. Nanos was appointed to the job in 2015 after the retirement of longtime Sheriff Clarence Dubnik.
Nanos beat Kevin Kubitskey in Tuesday's Democratic primary election, who is a PCSD deputy and leader of a union that represents many of the deputies in the department.
Incumbent Sheriff Mark Napier ran unopposed in the Republican primary.
