NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Police say they arrested a man at the Nashville International Airport after he arrived with more than 50 pounds of marijuana that had been wrapped up like Christmas presents.
According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville police, those bags belonged to 57-year-old Somphone Temmeraj. He flew to Nashville from Seattle.
Around 7 p.m. Monday, both a K-9 and officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from three bags and saw a man come to pick them up.

Inside the bags, officers found what looked like Christmas presents inside, but they weren't -- it was all packaged marijuana. In all, there were 75 packages in the three suitcases weighing 84 pounds.
Police say Temmeraj also had $2,600 in cash on him. He's booked into jail now on a $10,000 bond.
