People who complain about the increased prices of basketball shoes are in for a shock.

Nike is set to release the HyperAdapt 1.0 — a self-lacing sneaker. But the price tag is more akin to a month of rent for some than a pair of shoes.

The new Nike shoes will retail for $720 and be available December 1 in the Nike Soho store and the NIKE+ ClubHouse in New York City.

A small number of NIKE+ APP will get limited early access to the shoes on Nov. 28.

"The shoe translates deep research in digital, electrical and mechanical engineering into a product designed for movement," the company site says.

According to Business Insider, the first pair of Nike Air Jordans cost $65 in 1985.

But how much would you pay for new shoes? Tell us with this poll.
