Bystanders rescued a 14-year-old girl after she was swept away by flood waters near her bus stop in Drexel Heights.

According to officials from the Drexel Heights Fire Department, the girl tried to walk through running water in a wash next to her bus stop near W. Bopp Rd. and S. San Joaquin Rd. Officials say she got about two feet into the wash before the water swept her away.
The young girl hit her head and was knocked unconscious, officials say.
Bystanders pulled her from the wash and firefighters responded, taking her to Banner University Medical Center.
She is now in stable condition, according to officials.
The bus driver has been assigned to home as Marana Unified School District investigates, district spokeswoman Tamara Crawley said:
Hi. This incident is being treated seriously and is under review in accordance with our standard transportation processes. The bus driver has been assigned to home while the matter is under review.
