Authorities say two Phoenix-area women have been arrested for allegedly performing unlicensed dental work on five unsuspecting victims at an office in Glendale.
The Arizona Attorney General's Office announced Wednesday that 45-year-old Melissa Pavey and 38-year-old Jolene Houchens are accused of performing unlicensed dental procedures including tooth extractions by utilizing drills, lasers and surgical tools.
Authorities say Pavey and Houchens have never been licensed as a dentist.
According to an indictment, the two women billed victims thousands of dollars to perform the illegal dental procedures.
The two also are accused of stealing the identity of a dentist by unlawfully using his prescription pad to write a prescription for one of the victims.
It's unclear if either Pavey or Houchens has legal representation yet.
