Police responded to a serious injury collision involving a motorcycle Sunday night near Stone and Limberlost.
According to TPD, upon arrival, officers located a woman in the roadway with signs of trauma. She was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
On Monday, detectives learned the woman died from injuries. She has been identified as 37-year-old Renee Doty.
Detectives have since learned that the driver of a Mercedes experienced a mechanical function and stalled in the roadway.
Doty was riding on the back of a motorcycle with a man driving it. TPD says the motorcycle struck the back of the Mercedes, causing them to be thrown from the motorcycle. Neither person was wearing a helmet.
The man driving the motorcycle fled the scene on foot before police arrived. Police have not been able to locate him.
