TUCSON, Ariz. — The Tucson woman accused of killing her twin grandsons appeared in court Thursday.
Dorothy Flood, 55, is facing two counts of first-degree murder in the case. Investigators say the two boys had autism and were nonverbal.
Deputies found the two boys in separate rooms in the west Tucson home earlier this month, dead of apparent multiple gunshot wounds. They found Flood on the floor of the home after she'd apparently attempted to overdose on a prescription medication.
Investigators say Flood told a family member the boys had "become too much for her, especially in the last six weeks."
Her next court date is set for May 23.
