The man who founded Veterans on Patrol and claimed that an encampment near Interstate 19 and Valencia has been used for human trafficking was arrested on a felony trespassing charge.
Michael Lewis Arthur Meyer, who has posted viral videos alleging government cover-ups about activities at the camp, has yet to be assigned an arraignment in Pima County Superior Court. Pima County Sheriff's deputies say social media videos gave detectives probable cause to arrest Meyer on a trespassing charge.
Deputy Daniel Jelineo said deputies in the Tucson Mountain District came across Meyer on a traffic stop while they were on an unrelated investigation.
The department is now investigating other matters involving Meyer, Jelineo said.
Tucson police and ICE say that they have not found any evidence that supports the allegations that the camp is used for human trafficking.
