TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A call for action from a handful of Utterback Middle School parents.
In the past few weeks, the parents have decried the lack of security, staffing, and discipline.
Parents have come forward at TUSD school board meetings and candidate forums.
Now parents are pushing for other parents to show up to tonight's school board meeting as a show of support.
Utterback is a Fine and Performing Arts magnet school designed to attract students across the district, but the parents feel administrators have neglected students for years.
"I feel neglected. My children feel neglected. And my children behind them are going to be neglected unless we stand up and let them know that were here and they're going to hear our voices and we're not going anywhere until they make changes."
The group once again plans to address the governing board during the call to the audience.
The TUSD board meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.
TUSD officials plan to host a parent meeting at Utterback and share some of the great things happening at Utterback, and get feedback on improvements.
