New information has been released regarding a man who was involved in a fatal collision on March 31.
According to a press release from the Tucson Police Department, 64-year-old Robert Plata was hit by an oncoming vehicle at Congress and Church. He had life-threatening injuries and was transported to Banner UMC where he died as a result of his injuries on April 2.
After investigating the collision, detectives have determined that it does not appear that Plata had been in a crosswalk when he was hit by an unknown vehicle that did not remain on the scene.
