TUCSON, Ariz. — The University of Arizona is making a push to support veterans who struggle with mental health.
A forum with speakers and time for open discussion was held Friday with a focus on post traumatic stress, transitional stress, traumatic brain injuries, and local support programs.
Director of UArizona Veterans Education and Transition Services Bruce Grissom said "Identifying symptoms, looking out for symptoms, and connect them to resources in our community that can help them through issues."
According to the National Council for Behavioral Health 30 percent of active duty and reserve military deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan have a mental health condition that requires treatment.
