Thousand of students at the University of Arizona graduated, giving them a sense of relief and accomplishment. They'll start their next step in their journey's on Friday night at the UA's 154th Commencement Ceremony.
The 2018 Spring Commencement was a proud and special moment for many University of Arizona students and their families as they turn those tassels and march into the real world.
More than 45,000 students walked across the stage Friday night at Arizona Stadium, with more than 40,000 guests attending.
For many graduates, commencement is the moment they have been waiting for, for several years. Some say they will take with them the challenges and life lesson, while others say memories are even bigger than that. "Friendships that will last a life time and learned lessons I will use every day," graduate Jordan Hailey explained. She is the first in her family to graduate from a university, which is something she never thought was possible. "It's a big accomplishment, I was actually a transfer student first so it's a big thing to be able to graduate from here," she added.
Jarrett Mitchell received his B.A. In elementary education, he moved from Japan. He says UA has been very welcoming and has prepared him to become the best teacher in the near future." I love education, being with the kids and being a positive influence to the kids is my biggest success here," Mitchell said.
Although for some, commence is a bitter sweet moment, they say they will look back at the memories and remember how they made the last couple of years so special.
