UPDATE (4 p.m., March 26):
Marana Police provided more details on the crash that killed two in Marana on March 25.
According to a social media post from MPD, a 2003 Jeep Liberty with one occupant was driving northwest in the correct lane on the I-10 frontage road between Avra Valley Road and Tangerine Road.
At the same time, a 2021 Honda Civic carrying four people was driving southeast, the wrong way, in the same lane.
The two vehicles collided head-on. Two individuals, a 48-year old woman identified as Nora Saldana and a 17-year-old female, died at the scene. The social media post did not specify which vehicles they were in.
Marana PD did not observe signs of impairment from either driver.
The investigation is ongoing.

Two people died and three others were transported to the hospital with injuries following a two-vehicle crash in Marana early Wednesday.
According to Marana Police, officers and Northwest Fire crews responded to the crash at 1:22 a.m. on the west side of Interstate 10, between Tangerine Road and Avra Valley Road.
The investigation is ongoing.
