Two Tucson Unified School District schools released early Tuesday due to a power outage that knocked out service to thousands on the southwest side.
Maldonado and Grijalva Elementary Schools released students at 12:45 p.m.
Here is the message the district sent parents:
Good Afternoon
Due to a power outage at Maldonado Elementary and Grijalva Elementary Schools we are doing an early release today at 12:45. If you would like to pick up your student early, please come to the school's normal pickup and drop off areas. However if you are unable to come early, please know the students will remain supervised at the school in a cool area with water available until their normal school release time of 1:55 Our normal transportation options will take place at that time.
