Tucson Police have issued a warning about a familiar phone scam popping up around the country.
Police say callers claim to have kidnapped a family member and that a ransom must be paid.
Victims are given information on how to send money, often more than $5,000, to get their family member back.
If you receive one of these calls police advise that you ask the caller very detailed questions that only your real family member would know.
If you have lost money through this scam, you are encouraged to file a police report.
