Tucson Police identify man killed in gang-related shooting near the southside, suspect arrested

TUCSON, Ariz. - Tucson Police are investigating a single-vehicle collision as a fatal shooting near the southside that happened on Friday morning.

The victim was identified as 18-year-old Julian Zepeda.

TPD were called to the area near 5500 South Forgeus Avenue across from Las Villas De Kino Apartments.

Upon arrival officers found Zepeda inside the vehicle with signs of gunshot trauma.

Tucson Fire took Zepeda to Banner University Medical Center.

Officials say the suspect fled the scene and witnesses saw the suspect going toward the apartment complex.

TPD searched the area for the suspect.

Police say a juvenile man described as the suspect was found and arrested.

TPD reports the incident as a gang-related shooting.

Detectives say the investigation is ongoing.
