Tucson Police release new information in Midtown homicide investigation

Tucson Police identified the victim as 58-year-old Christopher Kershaw. Police said he was involved in a verbal confrontation with an adult woman when an adult man shot Kershaw.

TPD said both suspects left before they arrived, but they were able to identify the car they used. They tracked that back to Sierra Vista where they found the two were involved for an unrelated incident in Bisbee. Later in the evening, police tracked down the male suspect where he was shot by an officer in Cochise County.

We do not know the details of the officer-involved shooting, but the suspect is alive and recovering in the hospital. His name is expected to be released once he is booked into jail.

Tucson Police are investigating a homicide in the area of North Craycroft Road and East Fifth Street.

Details are limited. Tucson Police did confirm an adult male was declared dead at the scene.
