Tucson police have determined there is no evidence of threat to students at Empire High School Tuesday after a social media threat was posted online, according to Empire High School.

Empire High School took to Facebook to inform parents, students and staff on the situation.

A student was concerned about the safety of a friend after reading a message from a different student and interpreted it as a threat, according to Empire High School.

Tucson Police spoke to the students involved and determined there was no threat.

School will resume as scheduled.

Empire High School encourages its students to attend class today, Tuesday August 7.

There will be extra district personnel and officers throughout the day on school grounds working to assure student safety.
