TUCSON, Ariz. - A Tucson man accused of firing shots at his ex-girlfriend's window has been sentenced to 7.5 years in prison.

Reports say Marcos Benjamin Anaya was sentenced Tuesday.

Anaya was arrested in January 2019 for allegedly firing a gun several times at the bedroom window of the duplex his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend were staying after he saw the two through the window.

In November, Anaya pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm at a residential structure.

Pima County prosecutors say Anaya was sentenced for the aggravated assault charge.

Anaya also will serve seven years of probation for the discharging of a firearm charge.

His sentencing is scheduled for January 7, 2020.
