TUCSON, Ariz. — A major Jewish holiday is being celebrated this weekend Rosh Hashanah.
To prepare for the weekend 350 women gathered Thursday at the Tucson Jewish Community Center for the annual mega Challah bake.
Participants learn how to mix, knead, and shape their own traditional Challah a sweet bread.
Feigie Ceitlin says "Challah is Bread, and bread is life to everywhere, you need bread to survive."
The practice pf baking Challah has been performed by Jewish women for more than 100 generations.
Feigie Ceitlin says "Baking bread brings people together. So it's important to bring people together; people are so divided over the silliest little things"
Rosh Hashanah begins Sunday evening, and ends Tuesday evening.
