TUCSON, Ariz. - A Tucson hotel is joining in on a social media movement to help older people and those who are immunocompromised in town.

Hotel McCoy took to Instagram over the weekend to let their followers know staff at the hotel were willing to go pickup groceries and essential supplies for anyone in their area who was in need.

Just a few hours later they took to Instagram once again. That time they let people know to report their photo and offer to pickup groceries for anyone in need in their neighborhoods.

Nicole Dahl, the creative director for Hotel McCoy told KGUN9 she thought of the idea after feeling like she needed to offer some positivity to those following the Hotel McCoy Instagram account.

"We are always looking for how we can react in the positive and make the world a better place and so we decided instead of panicking, which a lot of people in the travel industry are doing, what can we do to help," Dahl said.

She added that after offering help on social media, staff did get a few inquiries from people needing the help.

Dahl encourages anyone in Tucson or southern Arizona to go onto the Hotel McCoy Instagram or Facebook and repost their photo in hopes of helping anyone in need.
