TUCSON, Ariz. - The Tucson Department of Transportation will be hosting an e-scooter pre-launch event on Wednesday, September 4.
The six-month e-scooter pilot program officially launches on September 12, which is when e-scooters will available for rent on the streets of Tucson.

Bird and Razor, the two companies selected to provide e-scooters, will be allowed to launch up to 750 e-scooters each. There will be no more than 1,500 e-scooters on Tucson streets during the six-month pilot program.
During the pre-launch event the community will have the opportunity to learn hoe e-scooters work, they will get the chance to actually use an e-scooter, and learn how the Bird and Razor apps work.

Members of the public will also get the chance to take home a free helmet, while supplies last.
The event will be held on the southwest corner of Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
