A Tucson mother accused of intentionally burning her daughter in a hot bath is now on trial.
Samantha Osteraas is facing child abuse charges after her 5-year-old adoptive daughter ended up with third-degree burns over 80 percent of her body. Osteraas told police she didn't realize that water was too hot. The child was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The case was presented to the Pima County Attorney’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued for Osteraas. She was booked into the Pima County Jail in January 2017.
