TUCSON, Ariz. -- Tucson Police are searching for a suspect in a deadly hit and run.
It happened Wednesday around 9:30 p.m.
Police said 65-year-old John Rivera Velasquez was crossing South 12th Avenue near Calle Ramona, not in a crosswalk, when he was hit by a truck.
They said the driver hit the man while turning onto 12th Avenue, stopped briefly, then drove away.
Tucson Fire took Velasquez to Banner UMC where he died. o
Now, police are looking for the driver.
They said the truck was described as a silver, mid-size pickup with an extended cab.
Detectives are following up on leads, but still ask that anyone who knows what happened call and report it to 88-crime.
