On Tuesday, you will get to decide who the Democratic nominee is for Arizona State Representative District 2.

Republican candidate John Christopher Ackerley is running unopposed.

Three main priorities this election are education, gun control and infrastructure.

Daniel Hernandez says he spent the last five years on the Sunnyside School Board.

"The biggest frustrations I have had as a school board member and just as a citizen is the bad direction the legislature keeps going," he said.

If elected he says education is his number one priority.

State Rep. Rosanna Gabaldon is running for her third term in District 2.

She says she wants to invest in education.

"If it be early childhood development K-12, community colleges, universities and especially JTED, which I was very pleased, JTED actually had been restored after the funds had been taken away," Gabaldon said.

The third candidate is a recent University of Arizona law graduate. Aaron Baumann is also pushing for education reform.

"The state of public education in Arizona is a disaster from K-12 to community colleges to public universities," he said. "Universities and community colleges need to be accessible and affordable to all students in our district."
