The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested 19-year-old Edward Garcia with an outstanding warrant from Texas for several recent robberies in Sierra Vista.
On Friday, in the 1800 block of East Fry Boulevard, SVPD Special Operations Bureau detectives came in contact with Garcia, who matched the descriptions of three previous incidents.
According to Sierra Vista Police, the most recent incident happened on Nov. 15 when police received a report of an armed robbery at Check Into Cash, located at 2101 East Fry Boulevard. Before police arrived on the scene, police said the robber, who is believed to be Garcia, ran off with $1260 in cash after threatening two employees.
Employees gave a description of Garcia, which matched that of a theft suspect who stole two cell phones from the Sprint Store at 999 East Fry Boulevard on Nov. 13.
A third incident happened on Oct. 31, when SVPD officers were called to Kay Jewelers inside The Mall at Sierra Vista for a report of a robbery. An employee told police a young man forcibly grabbed a 10-karat gold rope chain from her hand while she was showing it to him. The suspect ran off with the chain.
Garcia is believed to have recently come to Sierra Vista from Texas.
