A major construction project is underway on Tangerine.
KGUN9's Carlos Herrera reports that the project is part of the 20-year Regional Transportation Authority plan approved by voters in 2006.
Paving work on westbound Tangerine begins today.
The project is part of a bigger picture that will encompass work on La Canada and Interstate 10.
The roadway will widen to four lanes with landscaped medians. Dip crossings will be eliminated, bike and pedestrian lanes will be added and new turn lanes and signals will be installed at key intersections.
