The Sugar Skulls are hosting their first tryouts this Saturday at the Kino Sports complex, 2500 East Ajo Way.
The Sugar Skulls tryout will give prospective players a chance to launch their professional football careers. Players from Indoor Football Leagues have been able to further their careers in both the National Football League and the Canadian Football League.
For this Saturday's tryouts, here's what you need to know:
Registration is set to begin at 8 a.m. and end at 8:55 a.m. After stretching and warm-ups, tryouts will begin at 9 a.m. sharp.
All players intending to try out must register to take part. There is a fee to participate, $80. Cash and money orders will be the only forms of payments accepted. No debit cards, credit cards or personal checks will be accepted.
During the tryouts, all players will go through drills like a 40-yard dash, position drills and one-on-one drills to evaluate their footwork and playing skills.
Participants must provide their own gear - cleats, shorts and accessories. The tryout is non-contact, so pads and helmets are not needed. No locker room facilities will be available, so participants must be prepared upon their arrival.
Tryouts are expected to end sometime after noon. After tryouts, Head Coach Marcus Coleman will be available for one-on-one interviews.
If participants wish to send links to film and resumes, send them to scouting@tucsonsugarskulls.com.
The Tucson Sugar Skulls will begin its inaugural season in March with home games at the Tucson Arena.
