Over the past 15 years the food drive has helped bring in more than 200,000 food items and $150,000 in cash donations that benefit the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
For every $1 dollar donated, the Community Food Bank is able to distribute enough food for four meals.
This year KGUN9 On Your Side, Sun Tran and HSL Properties are all partnering for the annual event.
A Sun Tran bus will be parked at the Dorado Golf Course where anyone is invited to drop by and donate non-perishable food items.
The Community Food Bank says there are some items they are always in need of, which include the following.
- Peanut Butter
- Canned Soups
- Boxed Cereals
- Canned Fruits and Vegetables
- Canned Tomato Products
- Rice
- Pasta
- Beans
The "Stuff-the-bus" food drive will be taking place starting at 6 a.m. and will go all the way through 6 p.m.
Monetary donations can also be made here.
