TUCSON, Ariz. — The Oro Valley Police Department is warning of stranger danger.
OVPD says a call came in Monday afternoon reporting a suspicious vehicle in the area of Granville Canyon Way and Bandanna Way.
Police say, before the call, a 13-year-old girl was walking home from a bus stop when a neighbor noticed a suspicious van that appeared to be following the girl. The neighbor asked the girl if she was OK and told her about the van.
The girl reported that she did notice the van. As she turned onto Saddletree Place from Bandanna Way, the van continued to follow into the cul-de-sac. The girl began to run and the van drove away.
The driver is described as a male wearing a blue shirt and brown facial hair. He was driving an older model white van with a ladder on the roof.
Officers searched the area but could not find the van.
OVPD is asking the public to remain vigilant and call 9-1-1 if they see a similar van, like the one above, in the area.
